Boat is located in: Calumet, Michigan
I purchased this boat in 2008.
It had been professionally restored by the previous owner.
The condition of this boat is excellent.
It has always been stored inside and both motors fogged in the fall each season and lower units drained and filled with new oil.
The 40 horse Yamaha only has about 20 hours on it.
The 4 horse Yamaha trolling motor has under 5 hours on it and is basically new.
Both are long shaft 2 stroke.
I've only had time to take it out a couple times each season, which is why I have decided to sell it.
The boat runs flawlessly.
It's hard to describe how a wooden boat handles, but it's a wonderful feeling out on the water.
It handles rough water very well for a 14 foot and I've been out by rabbit island a few times with it.
It tops out at about 28-30 mph.
I have had it up and down the Portage Canal and lake a number of times and it's an idea pleasure boat.
Included: Tilt Trailer, Spare tire, bumpers, 2 paddles, Lawrence 240 Fish Finder, Ship to Shore Radio, (2) 6 gallon Gas Tanks and Hoses, Ladder, Marine Battery, Bilge Pump, Anchor 2 Front Seats.
It also has a working canvas canopy that can cover the front half in a storm.
I also have a rain canopy that covers the whole boat if needed if docked overnight.
Thompson made these Lapstrake boats from 1960-1967 at the Wausaukee, Wisconsin Plant.
I'm not sure of the manufacture date, but believe it to be early 60s.
